Care Quality Commission

Glenside (Glenside Manor Healthcare Services Ltd), as a provider of healthcare services, is required under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 to be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The CQC is responsible for ensuring that health and social care providers meet the essential standards of quality and safety. There is a comprehensive inspection framework and, in 2016, a new framework for inspecting acute and hospital services was introduced. There are five key questions that the CQC asks:

  • Are services safe
  • Are services caring
  • Are services responsive to people’s needs
  • Are services effective
  • Are services well-led
