Glenside is delighted to be able to announce that two of its services have been selected as a finalist for the national Laing Buisson Awards 2015.
The Neuro Rehabilitation Unit (NRU) team working within the hospital at Glenside Salisbury has been shortlisted for the Brain Injury Rehabilitation category; and the Horizon Close team (supporting service users in the simulated supported living bungalows) have been shortlisted for the Residential Care Provider award category.
The award shortlists follow a positive Care Quality Commission (CQC) report published in July, which summarised the findings of a full inspection undertaken at Glenside Salisbury in February 2015. In response to the question “Are services caring?” CQC inspectors stated that they were told “staff were caring and treated patients with dignity and respect and that patients were listened to and received excellent care and treatment.”
The Horizon team were highlighted as offering “good practice” with the following observation: “We saw patients being supported to make decisions about the future and helped to develop skills necessary for independent living.”
According to Laing Buisson, 2015 has been a record year for entries, as they have now been celebrating ten years of excellence in the independent healthcare sector. The nominations will be sent to an anonymised selection of judges and the winners of each award category will be announced at a Gala Dinner in London on 11 November 2015.
