Glenside’s Complex Neuro-Rehabilitation Services shortlisted for Healthinvestor Awards

25 August 2017
Glenside is delighted to be able to announce that its Complex Care Neuro-Rehabilitation Service has been shortlisted as a finalist
for the national Healthinvestor Complex Care Awards 2017.

The complex care neuro-rehabilitation service includes Newton House (12 bed) and Langford / Kennet (16 bed) step-down units within Glenside’s neuro-rehabilitation pathway. This service provides comprehensive individualised nursing care for adults with complex care needs with high physical dependency; a disorder of consciousness; or in need of tracheostomy management, including those in a Persistent Vegetative State, or those who have ‘locked-in’ syndrome requiring ongoing, long-term support, as well as palliative care and family support.

The nomination included a summary of the specialist care provided including Sensory Modality Assessment and Rehabilitation Technique (SMART) assessment and personalised treatment programmes, together with related facilities such as the recently developed sensory room, which provides an environment where findings from SMART can be further explored to enhance the potential of the people we support.

The Healthinvestor Awards aim to recognise the achievements of those organisations working in healthcare. Following a record number of entries, nominations for the shortlisted finalists will be sent to an independent judging panel and the winners of each award category will be announced at a Gala Dinner in London on 1 June 2017.
