Star Service for Quality Excellence Award

12 July 2017
The newly introduced “Star Service for Quality Excellence Award” is given out monthly to a person or service which has:

  • implemented an innovative service improvement
  • demonstrated an outstanding aspect of care, or has done something particularly well
  • has received great feedback from a service user, family member/friend, visiting professional or other staff member

In November, the award was given to the Hospital Neuro Behavioural Unit team for their hard work in reducing medication administration errors below the NHS average intervention rate of 2.9%, down to 0.7%. Also to Pembroke Lodge staff who contributed hugely to the smooth transition of service users from Pembroke Lodge to other services.

In December, it was awarded to Mandy Davin who took the decision to put out a fire which had started in an office within the hospital building, thus avoiding potential damage to the building premises and disruption to service users.
