Safeguarding is everyone’s business – last week everybody at Glenside participated to raise awareness and promote safer services.
As part of our commitment to high quality services, Safeguarding Awareness Week came to Glenside led by Steve Baldeo, Clinical Lead, to shine a light on the importance of safeguarding vulnerable adults. Our excellent teams started conversations and debates across the site and participated in a number of talks.
Safeguarding Awareness Week is an opportunity to raise awareness of how to recognise the different types of adult abuse and what to do if you think someone is being abused or is at risk of being abused. Through resources, group discussions, training and sharing best practice, all of our teams embraced the week and in doing so learnt a great deal. Steve Baldeo said “I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for making our Safeguarding Week at Glenside a success. We definitely raised awareness around making it safe and protecting the vulnerable adults here at Glenside”. All units across our Salisbury site instigated daily team discussions around safeguarding as part of the week-long programme. “Many of you have completed your Care Certificate on Safeguarding Adults and have registered to become Dignity Champions. You should all be proud of what you have achieved. Well done” Steve concluded.
